Andrew's Top 3
Stranger by the Lake (L'inconnu du lac)
Don't miss this dark and sexy Cannes prize winner, L'inconnu du lac, that harkens back to film noir of Hitchcockian days, only perhaps more literal with the 'cock' part.

Five Dances
Director Alan Brown has crafted a simple, compelling, sexy coming of age story set in the modern dance world of New York City. Starring Broadway up and comer Ryan Steele and gorgeous dance pieces, don't miss this one.

The Most Fun I've Ever Had with My Pants On
Part road movie, part rite of passage, part mourning the loss of a loved one, Writer, director, actress, singer, Drew Denny has created a stunning first feature where two best childhood friends reunite to take a road trip to scatter one of their father's ashes.

Brad's Pick
Bridegroom
I am a voyeur in a way, not the way you are thinking, but into people’s lives.

That is one of the reasons that documentaries appeal to me. Real people with real stories.

The story of Shane Bitney Crone and Tom Bridegroom is heartfelt and extremely sad. I don’t know if I could have dealt with it myself. What resonates about this story is that Shane did deal with it and did not become a victim. He used his heartbreaking experience to bring awareness to audiences around the globe that love is universal and that there is a long way to go for acceptance to be as well.

Bridegroom made me hold on tight to what I have, and that’s a good thing!

Diana's Pick
Sarah Prefers to Run (Sarah préfère la course)
Yes, I'm as excited about Blue is the Warmest Color as any lesbian should be, but I'm gonna throw a curveball here and make my pick Sarah Prefers to Run.

This is a finely crafted, intelligent film that doesn't rely on clichés to tell its coming out story. Beautiful cinematography and captivating subtleties abound as we follow Sarah's path through self-discovery. It's not an explicitly gay story in the traditional sense and that's why I loved it.

Here's your chance to see this festival circuit darling as it makes its way to Inside Out via Cannes and TIFF.

See the film and let's discuss @InsideOutTO

That's not all. Next week's newsletter will feature picks from Scott, Winnie, Meryl and Philip.
