DDB Founder Tamira Thayne on Day 12 of Hunger Strike in Surry County, VA

tamijaylo

DDB Founder and CEO is just sick and tired of the harassment she's been undergoing in Surry County, VA, and so has undertaken a Hunger Strike to bring justice to a situation that is beyond unfair and inhumane.

When a former employee was being investigated last year for embezzling from the org, the employee worked with Surry County AC and Prosecutor Gerald Poindexter to frame Thayne for animal cruelty.

It's obvious the DA was waiting for his chance, and even though they have no evidence of cruelty, jumped on it anyway.

Thayne came back from her honeymoon to being charged four hours later and having no idea what was going on.

Gerald Poindexter is one and the same DA who in 1999 dropped charges against Benny Butts, a self-confessed dogfighter, and GAVE HIM BACK ALL 33 malnourished dogs he had chained at his property.

He's the very same DA who obstructed justice in the Michael Vick case to the point where the feds had to come in and take over. And he's the same DA who subsequently DROPPED ALL CRUELTY CHARGES AGAINST MICHAEL VICK.

Yet he has had no problem with charging Tamira Thayne, seizing one of our dogs who the judge promptly ordered returned and proclaimed 'showed a clear LACK of evidence of abuse', and continuing to threaten to recharge her to this day.

At the same time, he is obstructing justice in refusing to recuse himself or press charges in the case of embezzling against the former employee who was investigated by the state police. These charges have been sitting on his desk since October of last year.

It's been a constant fight for justice, and Tamira is now asking for your help. If you want to see all the evidence, please visit the page at http://www.dogsdeservebetter.org/surrycounty.html.

If you want to know who to write, start with these, and add anyone and everyone you can think of! Without public pressure, this abuse of power will be allowed to continue and it is the dogs who suffer in the end. Thank you so much.
