Have Fun and Help at our Spring Fun-raiser

On May 18 we are having a special event - we're creating a Boulder version of the popular NPR program "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" as well as having a live and silent auction, food and fun. You can help in the following ways:

*Ask restaurants, bodyworkers, spas, entertainment venues, or hotels you frequent for gift certificates that we can use at our auction. If everyone would ask 2-3 people we'd do really well at the auction.
* If anyone has live auction ideas (dinners, special events, condos, balloon rides, etc.) that you'd be willing to donate to live auction, please contact dena@neveikodesh.org
* If you would like to help with food, setup, decoration, or be part of the writing group that works on the show, please let us know, info@neveikodesh.org

Rabbi Search Weekend

April 25-27 will be our next rabbi search committee weekend. We have posted info about Rabbi Ruth Gelfarb on our website. Details are below (click here).

Education Director

We have posted our Education Director position for the next school year. Details are here. Please forward to anyone you know who may be interested.

Donate a Sleeping Bag!

The season is changing, the homeless shelters are preparing to close, and
our guests are preparing themselves for the summer. Most are likely to camp in the foothills or sleep in squats (secret locations in or near the city).
Many lost their outdoor equipment in last fall's flood, and the community
needs about 300 sleeping bags. If you can contribute a new or used (but clean) sleeping bag, please drop it off at Nevei Kodesh (in the lobby) and BOHO will see that it is distributed to someone who needs it for shelter this summer. (You can purchase a new sleeping bag for as little as $30.) Thank you.

Social Action:

Bikkur Cholim

Bikkur Cholim is online!
Helping each other has gone electronic, here at CNK. Sara Cohen has set up an online calendar at the Lotsa Helping Hands website for everyone who wants to participate in Nevei Kodesh's Bikkur Cholim efforts, whether occasionally or regularly.

"Bikkur cholim" means "visiting the sick," but it encompasses a much larger spectrum of mitzvote, good deeds: from taking food to families who are in grief or who are caring for an ill family member, to giving rides to and from appointments, to paying a call to an ailing congregant, or simply making a phone call to wish someone well. Perhaps you could contribute a container of soup or a main dish (precisely labeled, of course) once in a while? Make a phone call? ? Whether you can help on a regular basis or just once in a blue moon, we really need your energy and time. Questions? Contact Sara Cohen, SaraCohen@comcast.net

Don Koplen discovered a great local kids' summer program for your kids who would like to learn to build things. He writes, "I fell in love with building at age 48, having always regretted that I'd never before learned how to use tools and build things. I have met with the guys who are teaching this course and am highly impressed. If you'd like to learn more, go to boulderbuildacademy.com. The classes are for ages 8-12 and 13-16 and run five days a week, Monday-Friday, and if your child likes it, he/she can take the next level."
