1. Amazon's Publisher Studio
Amazon introduced an interesting tool for Associates recently called Publisher Studio. Basically, once you register your site and enable a toolbar you can find and link to Amazon products directly from your site without having to grab your affiliate links from the Amazon site. I haven't tried it myself, but it looks interesting. To find out more or to sign up, go here. To see it in action, check out this video by Jennifer Garza.
Use Google's PageSpeed Insights. Type in your site name and hit Analyze. The suggestions to improve speed my be a little overwhelming, but, some good places to start are (1) use a good theme (2) compress your images as I suggested a few useletters ago (see #4) and (3) get rid of any plugins, add-ons or code (such as javascript) that aren't necessary or you're no longer using. (Adding more to my to-do list as we speak...)
4. Do you have an action color?
It's so simple, but I love the way Derek Halpern breaks it down in this video. I see the same thing he describes at 3:30. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've done it myself. What's your action color?
5. In other news...
This week I think I might have found my dream house and these stats about education were sad. Other than that, the demolition of Blogging with Amy is a much bigger job than I anticipated. And remember Blogging Basics and Beyond? Well, that's all different now. I changed it to How to Blog: A Step By Step Guide and it's slowly coming together (the key word being slowly). OH! I also launched the Useletter Archives. Just think, so many organized tips, all for the price of a sandwich and fancy coffee. Score.
Do you wonder what other tips I've shared in past useletters? You can find every last one of them in the Useletter Archives.
