Dear friends and colleagues,

We are bursting with excitement to announce our new weekly show, Fearless Parent Radio.

Here's the news that hit the wire this morning:

Press Release

Provocative "Fearless Parent Radio" Launches November 13

Business Wire 11/12/13

Who: Co-hosts Louise Kuo Habakus and Alison MacNeil are parents and published authors. Habakus was a Bain consultant and C-level executive. MacNeil has been a psychotherapist for 20 years.

What: A new weekly show Fearless Parent Radio that delivers a fresh social media perspective on parenting and wellness. Show topics include a new book in praise of admitting ignorance, boys and our failing schools, going pediatrician-free, and sex and parenting. Monthly segment "Fearless Medicine" hosted by mom and holistic psychiatrist Kelly Brogan, MD.

Where: New York City, airing on PRN.fm and available on iTunes.

When: Starting November 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. Eastern and live every Wednesday.

Why: Social media is exploding with extraordinary conversations about parenting on the front lines today. Refusing to be manipulated by fear, parents are reading the science, sharing knowledge, and building powerful networked communities.

"Alison and I will be holding a microphone up to the exceptional conversations taking place on social media and in our social circles. These are the stories, more real than Reality TV, that tell about parenting today," said Habakus.

"Over-focusing on things that have currency in the world, like money and titles, interferes with our ability to parent effectively. We'd all do better to "Lean In" a bit more to our parenting."

About Fearless Parent: Fearless Parent is an innovative online media platform covering the new parenting espoused by today’s thinking parent. The site offers news, commentary, and original content on the pulse of social media, through our blogs, radio show, and community-based programming. The reporting is provocative, honest, and hopeful. Our audience is the savvy and resourceful parent who is willing to question authority and make decisions based on both instinct and research.

Thinking Moms Revolution

Our Stories Are Missing!

Paraphrased from today's post on the Thinking Moms Revolution:

If you're reading this blog, you're a gutsy parent. And you know that nothing in mainstream media captures the reality of parenting today. Not even close.

Imagine a show hosted by parents like you.

Where they hold a microphone up to your conversations… to report back with honesty, humor, and respect.

Where they interview some of the smartest people they could find—authors, scientists, thought leaders… to connect the dots to the reality you see at home, in schools, and in our communities.

Alison and I love our Nurture Parenting blog, but we realized that the new parenting we’re covering is moving faster than we can capture with the printed word.

While editing the “you can’t make this stuff up” conversations—raw, hilarious, rich with the support and pragmatic solutions taking place all around us—we wondered if we risked missing this change revolution as we fussed over our writing. How could we highlight these vital conversations as they are happening?

In one serendipitous week, while Alison was quietly wishing for a radio show, Louise was asked by Progressive Radio Network if she wanted to put one together.

Fearless Parent Radio was born!
