Good On You

Ethical shopping just got simple: new browser extension provides one-click brand ratings.
Australia's growing number of conscious consumers can now browse and buy products from thousands of online brands without changing how they shop. Ethical Consumers Australia launches free browser extension Good On You, which makes shoppers instantly aware of products’ impact on people, the planet and animals. Check out how it works

The extension automatically detects brands in its 1500-strong database on any page a user browses, and displays a one-click ethical rating. The rating system, designed using input from NGOs like World Vision, Rank A Brand, Behind the Barcode, Ethical Clothing Australia, and Choose Cruelty Free, brings together available information about brands’ labour record, environmental practices and animal welfare. Good On You lets shoppers take their values into account as easily as they can compare price, size and colour. Categories covered include clothing, shoes, cosmetics, electronics and baby products.

Buy Social this Christmas

Christmas is close and the thought of presents is starting to loom large. This is a great opportunity to create social impact for individuals and communities by purchasing from a range of outstanding social enterprises on the Good Spender website.
Good Spender is an online marketplace where consumers who want to make a difference with their shopping can buy directly from social enterprises. Social enterprises are businesses that sell goods and services to benefit the community. Every dollar you spend with a social enterprise goes directly to support the social purpose of that organisation; this can range from creating employment for those with disabilities, the long term unemployed or indigenous Australians, through to protecting the environment and supporting nutrition and sanitation programs in developing countries.

Chicza 4 flavours pic

CHEWING GUM, THE WAY NATURE INTENDED

Organic Imports was born from the desire to provide Australians with healthy, unadulterated food alternatives with a social conscious. This is why they are immensely proud to be the sole distributors of Chicza throughout Australia. Chicza is the world's first organic, biodegradable chewing gum from Mexico's famed Mayan Rainforest! It boasts all natural ingredients, is 100 per cent biodegradable and is the ultimate fair trade product, supporting 2000 farmers and their families who protect the rainforest whilst sustainably harvesting the Chicle which provides the natural base of the gum.

"When a consumer takes Chicza to their mouth, they are not only consuming a high quality, gourmet product, but are getting our history, identity and our rainforest, this is Chicza" - Chicza Consortium Director Manuel Aldrete.
