Thank You, St. Thomas!

Mickela with The Caribbean Ritual Dancers in St. Thomas

Bare Feet™ was so honored to be a part of the 60th Annual Carnival Celebrations in St. Thomas. Not only was Mickela received with open arms and smiling faces by the Caribbean Ritual Dancers, recently featured in Travel + Leisure Magazine, but she was able to perform with them during the competitive Carnival Parade! The troupe won first place in both the Adult & Children's Parades, and Mickela was front and center competing with the group!

Krystal Setorie, Mickela's patient teacher from the troupe in St. Thomas, had these kind words to say: "Thank you for coming to our small islands to embrace and display parts of our proud culture. You are genuinely beautiful inside and out as well as passionate about dance. From “whining” to “wukkin up” you were eager to learn any and everything…lol…but you also taught as well. I no longer say “in – out – up – down” I simply say possé and they get it…lol thanks again sweetie…you were such a joy to work with!!!"

Videographer Mike Kuharic was hard at work capturing the festivities of Carnival, including running after Mickela through the streets of St. Thomas, learning a few dance moves himself, and even dressing up for the parade!
