Welcome to Edition 19 of Fair News.

We are extremely excited because we have so many amazing things planned for the 2013 Fair Trade Fortnight here in Melbourne. Fair Trade Fortnight has been scheduled from the 4th to the 19th of May 2013.

We encourage you to take part in the many activities at Victorian Fair Trade Festival and make the Fair Trade Fortnight a great success so that we can keep on spreading the message about fair trade practices and make life changing differences to producers around the world.

Fair Trade Markets
Sunday 5th of May 2013

A week just before Mothers' Day, the market will offer a great opportunity to do some conscientious shopping. Kids activities and light entertainment for the whole family to enjoy on a nice autumn day.

Power of the Social Flower Display
From Sunday 5th to 12th of May 2013
Fracture Gallery, Federation Square
Showcasing the arrival of fairtrade certified roses. A local visual artist will creative a floral and visual displays keeping the Mothers' day theme in mind with key messages about the power of the social flower and in the context of fair trade.

Fair Trade Mothers' Day High Tea
Sunday 12th of May 2013
From 11.30am to 1.30pm
This is not your average High tea. The Fair Trade Mothers’ Day High Tea will be celebrating women and mothers that have made amazing contributions to their communities both locally and overseas. The Fair Trade Mothers' Day High Team aims to raise funds for community initiatives both locally and in developing countries for project that supports mothers.

Business to Business Breakfast Series

Launching our new series of quarterly Business-to-Business Breakfast Talks during the Victorian Fair Trade Festival 2013. This will bring the conversation of Fair Trade, sustainability, ethical production and the future of consumption.

Fair Trade Education Day

City of Whitehorse
The Fair Trade Education Day this year will be held in the City of Whitehorse and with the aim to provide young primary school and high school students with information about fair trade and to educate them about how they can have a positive impact to global communities.
