NOTICE: Reduced Threshold on Overdue Fines

Renee Kelchak, Director for the Interlochen Public Library

Nice to Meet You

The Interlochen Public Library Board of Trustees have selected Renee Kelchak to serve as the new director for the Interlochen Public Library. IPL is a member library of the Traverse Area District Library system.

Born in Indiana to large and wonderful family, Renee moved to Traverse City in 1980 and married her best friend, Dan. Together they have three children and soon will have a total of four grandchildren.

Renee and her family frequently visited and utilized the Interlochen Public Library for many years, both for entertainment and education.

Renee has been employed by the Interlochen Public Library for 14 years. Throughout her time at IPL she has been fortunate to learn and work in every department.

"Interlochen Public Library is a hub for our community," said Renee. "And I am very proud to serve this wonderful community."

Renee also loves to cook, travel and spend time with her family.

Renee, what are you reading?

"I am currently reading Whiplash by Catherine Coulter."

About Us

The Traverse Area District Library (TADL) is a network of community libraries serving Grand Traverse County through the following locations: the Woodmere (Main) Branch in Traverse City including the Talking Book Library East Bay and Kingsley Branch Libraries; Member Libraries: Fife Lake Public Library, Interlochen Public Library, and Peninsula Community Library; and the Grand Traverse County Law Library.

TADL provides a wide variety of services, including the loan and inter-library loan of a broad collection of book titles (print, audiobooks, e-books, and e-audiobooks), periodicals, DVDs, CDs, subscription databases, publicly accessible computers, free WiFi, a variety of meeting spaces, blind and physically handicapped services, and free programming for all ages.
