U.S. EPA Launches SepticSmart Program to Educate Homeowners

A new public education initiative seeks to help homeowners understand how their septic system works. Like private water wells, septic systems require proper maintenance to avoid contamination and illness.

The new SepticSmart website contains basic information as well as downloadable resources for homeowners. There is also an outreach toolkit for local and regional organizations.

Click to visit SepticSmart.
