Sponsors Meet & Greet Evening 2012 - A wonderful night had by all!

On Friday 22nd June 2012 Women in Business and Regional Development Inc hosted the second annual Sponsors Meet & Greet evening at Caffe Belgiono's Tapas Bar.
25 WIB&RD Inc sponsors, financial members and board members attended.
WIB&RD Inc Chairman Tammy Whitehead welcomed all attendees “It is indeed a privilege as the Chair of Women in Business & Regional Development Inc to acknowledge the generous support of our sponsors. Some sponsors have been ongoing, investing their trust and support in this Regional Board. This is truly appreciated.

The Board particularly appreciates generous support from our sponsors without whom WiBRD would not function as effectively.”

Lucie Walters was our guest speaker, educating and entertaining us with her presentation on "Her Journey". Lucie is a great advocate for rural doctors and their education in country areas. Later this year Lucie will be giving a paper on her work at a conference at Harvard University.
Lucie was an outstanding speaker and her highly amusing anecdotes kept the audience entertained.
Also during the night 3 of our sponsors, Barbara Beal from UFS Chemist, Liz Ballinger from Teatrick Lavender Estate and Cherie Dean from Chardonnay Lodge addressed guests about their businesses. Networking, recognition of our generous business sponsors and some fundraising raffles saw a wonderful prize package and funds raised $150.00. A special thank you was extended to Maria Gentile of Caffe Belgiorno for providing an excellent venue, food and dessert.

Guest speaker was Sharyn Williams, proprietor who told her story to 11 interested members. Sharyn has always had a love for all things natural, and interest began when she wanted the best for her 6 children. The business first evolved by selling online, but demand soon encouraged her to open a shop from where she now operates with the help of some of her older children. Sharyn specializes in all organic produce and products most of which is locally grown. Orders are taken online or by telephone and deliveries are directly to your door within the local area. The group then moved to Bullfrogs restaurant in the Oatmill complex where networking was continued over a delightful meal.
