Last Friday I was having lunch with a friend & colleague and the subject of Pet Insurance came up.
He mentioned a friend who is soliciting donations online to help pay for a $5,000 surgery that her son's dog needs and she can't afford.
She gave up her career and relocated to Florida so that he could get specialized treatment for his severe autism.
The dog is her son's service animal. The only time he is at all communicative is when the dog is present. Now the dog is too sick to play.
Your family's pet may not be a service animal but I am willing to bet that you and your family value the contribution she makes to your lives almost as much.
