Happy Valentine's Day (one day late!) -

I hope everyone had a nice day yesterday. We use it as an excuse to cook a fancy pants delicious meal and sit in front of the fire....I'll take it! Last week in preparation for the day I also visited my cousin's chocolate shop in Vergennes Daily Chocolate and took some images of them in action getting ready for Valentine's Day - YUM :)

All is well up in Vermont - the "huge storm" last weekend only left us with 8 inches - kind of disappointing. It's 41 here today so I expect the last of the snow will be gone soon. I'm looking forward to spring and warmer weather but it hasn't felt like much of a winter!

My quiet season continues although 2013 is shaping up to be a great year wedding wise - 2 or 3 more spots to go before I call it closed! There will be lots of travel and I'm so excited to get to know my couples better as we start to do engagement photos.

This morning I completed my training to become a volunteer at the hospital so on Monday Strider and I will start our Therapy Dog work in the pediatric unit - wish us luck!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend - enjoy the news below!

With lots of pregnant friends expecting over the next few months I've been crafting up a storm lately.
A few weeks ago I was down in Rhode Island for my first girl's crafting weekend of the year. Always so much fun and we all get a TON done! The next one is happening next weekend!

We spent Christmas in our house with my Mom and Brother but headed down to the lake the next day to celebrate with Jeff's family!

Ten month old John was a little scared of me at first but then warmed up quickly - such an adorable age! I've worked with his mom Alison on a few weddings - she is a wonderful florist!

I just shipped four albums off the other day so now I just need to edit the photos! After taking a break for Christmas many couples decide that the winter is a good time to complete their album projects!

Garrett & Suzanne shared their favorite photos from their wedding
Portrait folios were a popular holiday present this year
I got this sample from Sam & Emily's wedding about a year ago but recently remembered that I had never blogged it - oops!

RECOMMENDATIONS

Homeland

In early January I was reading up a storm but since then I've started a few books that just haven't grabbed me. I usually give a book about 100 pages and if it still doesn't interest me back to the library it goes. I LOVE browsing at the library and especially visiting the "what's new" table...not that I have a lack of books on my to read list!

After hearing about Homeland for SO long Jeff and I finally took the plunge....and we haven't stopped since. Watch out - it's addictive!
I joked with Jeff that this book should be titled..... I have to read this whole thing "Before I go to Sleep" - I couldn't put it down!
A former bride recommended "Loving Frank" which I really enjoyed - reminded me a lot of "The Paris Wife"
Kate Morton's books are always so absorbing easy reads - I think I read "The Secret Keeper" in about 24 hours!

RECIPES

The fact that I have one measly recipe to share this month means I'm behind in my recipe blogging. We've tried a number of delicious new recipes recently and although I don't always remember to photograph before eating I should still write them up...resolution for March!!

We've done this Flash Roasted Broccoli with Spicy Crumbs a few times in the last month - YUM.
