Defense Distributed Reaches 50% of its Dark Wallet Fundraising Goal on Day 1

Yesterday, DD returned to indiegogo to launch a campaign for the collaborative development of Bitcoin's Dark Wallet, teased last month in The New Yorker. The project was covered yesterday in Forbes and the Financial Times. Within 24 hours we raised 25k USD in combined donations; half of our 45 day goal.

Thank you for your interest in tending the fires of Liberty. We believe there is a huge demand for crypto-anarchic projects after Snowden, and have been blown away by the response.

I promise not to send even weekly updates, outside of reporting an unusual result. But my ask is that you continue to share the video below to spread this crypto spirit. The Dark Wallet premiere client will work as a light browser extension featuring trustless mixing, multisignature, and colored coin support. It earns its name through a commitment to out-of-the-box privacy features and by playing on the supranationalist fear that one day the common man's public encryption would plunge the global intelligence networks into darkness.
