It has been quite a few days for the publishing industry. First we witnessed the demise of Douglas McIntyre, followed by the merger of Penguin Group and Random House. Our crystal ball for the future is unclear when it comes to the face of publishing. What we do know for sure is there is still a desire for books...we have people driving long distances to visit our little bookshop here in downtown Uxbridge. The word is spreading and people are seeking out the intimate feel of a traditional book store. We invite you to drop by and browse the shelves, feel how perfectly a book fits into your hand.

Make sure you check out our display of Enthrill E-book To Give books for the digital reader in your world.

Experience Burma

November 15th, 7 - 9:30pm at The Passionate Cook's Essentials

Join Naomi Duguid for an exotic taste experience of Southeast Asia. The fact is, some books simply need to exist. Burma: The Cookbook is one of these. Burma is culturally rich and complex in many ways, but perhaps nowhere more than in its extraordinary food culture. It's at the crossroads between the food of the great Indian subcontinent (to its west) and the food of Southeast Asia (to its east), with a dash of Chinese influence (from the north), making it an amazing place in-between.

The book features photographs throughout--of the finished dishes, of people, of a hauntingly beautiful land--as well as travel tips, a history of Burma, extensive glossaries, and a bibliography.

Call to reserve your tickets to Experience Burma, the latest in our series of popular collaborations with The Passionate Cook!

Experience Raw Food with Chef Doug McNish

December 12, 7 - 9:30pm at the Passionate Cook's Essentials

Explore the joys and benefits of a Raw Food Diet with Doug McNish who was once a meat loving, animal eating chef who saw the light and changed his ways. As much about the food as it will be about the journey. Join us as we experience Raw Food the way it was meant to be enjoyed.

Creative raw cuisine recipes for delicious nutrient-rich dishes. Raw food diets (where food is eaten raw and if heated, the temperature can't exceed 118 degrees Fahrenheit) are becoming increasingly popular today for a variety of reasons: a quest for weight loss and increased energy, reduced risk of diseases, an aversion to animal based foods or simply a desire to consume more whole, nutrient-rich ingredients. Whatever each person's reason, raw food diets and/or lifestyles are certainly becoming more mainstream. This wonderful collection of recipes will appeal to both novices and veterans of the raw food lifestyle
