Hello Amazing Women,

Who is ready for Spring to start???? Is that your hand up?? ME TOO!!

Today was actually a perfect puddle jumping day as all of the snow and ice is finally starting to melt. My son and I crunched our way through the snow and stomped in as many puddles as we could find on our way to the beach at the end of our block. That, and the change of light due to daylight savings has me starting to really get excited about the (hopefully) warmer days ushering in the spring season. This is New England though, so I can't be jumping for joy too soon. I hear we have more cold coming later in the week..

With two snowstorms in February and the super cold weather, this winter has definitely left me feeling a bit cooped up and batty. At the same time, I have been busy planning and implementing strategies for the long term vision of my studio space and offerings. Envisioning ways of bringing art, creativity, energy and female empowerment to all of you has my heart pitter pattering and doing a happy dance!

Next month I will be taking an Online Birth Art training with the folks over at Birthing from Within, adding to the classes and services I will be offering to pregnant mamas in the future. I have other goodies in store as well, but I will wait until next month to bring them up from under the ground. They are also still in the works. I can't get too ahead of myself!

I hope you are feeling the resurgant energy of the springtime season as well, and drawing it all out with every degree of warmer weather!

With Blessings,
Carla

Time to Play....D'Oh!! :)
My daughter created this meal one day this winter..so yummy! We may have been indoors a lot, but watching my children play and come up with things like this reminds me how easily they can get into a creative space no matter where they are. And you really don't need much to play with either. About a week ago my son took out a bunch of aluminum pie plates and arranged them face down on the floor. Then he jumped and sat on them one by one, having a ball. I think he was trying to re-create the short lived whoopie cushion experience from the holidays. The giggles we all had from his new found alternative were just as great. If you are ever in a creative rut, just take a look at what kids are doing...they are bound to spark something fresh within!

Go Crayon Bats!

In my blog post this month, I wrote about how inspiring I found Brian Lies, author and illustrator of Bats at the Beach . He told the children at my daughter's school that he drew in crayon in his sketchbook to keep him from getting over worried about how his art would turn out. Crayons kept him loose and allowed him to have more fun. He also said he drew in blue because it was his favorite color.

So how about digging up that old box of crayons, picking out your favorite color and drawing whatever tickles your fancy?
