So then?

Well, the executive summary is that Citibank Restaurant Week in association with BBC Good Food Magazine will be held September 24-30, 2012 across Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi. A three-course prix fixe menu will be INR 750++ per guest in Bangalore and INR 1,000++ for lunch and 1,200++ for dinner per guest in Delhi and Mumbai. This is our first price increase (boo!). Reservations will open on September 14th for Citibank customers and general reservations will open September 16th. The final list of participating restaurants is somewhere below.

So what else?

Ok, here's the deal - we've had to start recording episodes of Simpsons because we've been eating out so much. And although we love dining at some of this country's finest restaurants as much as the next hog, you really can't put a price on having the comfort of routine.

But we can put a number. We've signed on 70 restaurants in total this round, and we think it's the best line-up yet! So all we ask is go on kamikaze mode this time - try several places if you've got a digital video recorder set for 8pm on Star. And a new feature with the reservation system is that you can modify your reservation - so if you feel you're never going to get off the wait list, try another restaurant that might be available. Also, please, if you can't make your reservation, cancel it.

Back to the number - 10,000. It would be killer if we have 10,000 diners across Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai; in March we crossed 6,500. So go eat!

So anyway, gluttony is a key strategy. If you make this event go well enough, we might quit loitering the streets and start coming up with more ridiculous food events, as well as plan Restaurant Week way in advance. We might even ask a few of you to help us eat at participating restaurants which we do before finalising the participant list. And if we work on Restaurant Week and other events full-time, we won't need to cram all our 'research' meals and therefore win back our precious routine.

Because, let's face it, civilisation, as we know it, would die if it were not possible to slouch on a couch regularly whilst watching Itchy & Scratchy and nursing some Gin.
