The Souls of Liberty's Success was chosen out of hundreds of songs from HotNewHipHop users to compete for votes in the semi-final round of HNHH's artist spotlight series, HeatSeekers. During the semi-final round the Souls' submission received the 2nd most votes while competing against 19 other Hip Hop songs from around the nation. As a result, the Midwest lyricists are featured in Edition 26 of the HeatSeekers Final Four.
This is the second HeatSeekers contest the Souls have won. As the saying goes, "once you're lucky, twice you're good." In June, the duo opened up for MMG artist Wale after winning his "GIFTED HeatSeekers" contest with their "Ball" music video release. It should be noted that the recent "success" is due largely to the Souls' interactive and ultra supportive listenership being able to engage in timely opportunities such as the HNHH contests. The Souls of Liberty will begin their music campaign in September when they release Family from their next project, entitled "10,000 Hours". Supporters can also catch the Souls performing live for an intimate crowd at Blank Space in their hometown of St. Louis, MO on August 23, 2013.
