Cycle Design School Opens in Tokyo

April this year saw the commencement of classes in the new Tokyo College of Cycle Design.

NAHBS award-winning builder, Shin-ichi Konno, teaches two days a week at the college.

The head of the school, Masaru Watanabe, says the first generation of students numbered around 60. The course, which is 24 hours a week, 32 weeks a year, runs for either two or three-years, and those that successfully complete it will be awarded a government-certified diploma.

Watanabe hopes to bring current students to NAHBS, and adds, "My dream is that we’ll bring our students works to NAHBS when we have our first graduation in February 2015!"
