Mr. David Varner, has visited a few columbia Karate schools. "Great people", he says "but they do not seem to be very sparring oriented”. He's interested in competing on a Team in [the NMAL Team Eliminations] http://www.thenationalmartialartsleague.com). He weighs about 170, is 43 years young and in great shape for his age. He started taking karate at the age of 10, and have practiced many styles including go ju shorin, boxing, kickboxing, muay tai, and tae kwon do.
He's placed and won numerous tournaments, won 2 gold and 1 silver in the NC State Games, has participated in full contact kick-boxing and was a regular sparring partner with Lemont Davis who was a 2 time World Champion Kickboxer (KICK Association) and a World Combat League fighter (Chuck Norris’s League).
He loves the melee and do not understand the trend in schools these days who find sparring optional. He would love to get connected with some people who like to spar and compete. Feel free to pass his name along to anyone who may be looking for a team member.
