hey! it's al. i'd love to see you this weekend at fall open studios.

part one. (translation, you'll get another email in october)

the most important part--the party. it's friday 14 september 7-11pm.
for a more mellow experience--saturday & sunday 15-16 september 12-5pm.

where? 2425 17th street between hampshire & potrero. in the mission. in san francisco.

come because you wonder what my studio looks like tidy; because you want a sip of rye; because making art is fun and confusing; because you enjoy a night on the town with art on the walls; because love story machine will be in action.

a few things i'm working on--

Love Story Machine. endeavors to explore relationships between people and language, to work intuitively with our instincts to organize the universe, and to embrace the great abstraction that unifies us all—love. this installation began as a collaboration between Allyson Seal, Bailey Smith & Elspeth Stowell. check out lovestorymachine.com to read the stories.

the commitment geodes are a story i am still learning how to tell. they are creatures of love and loss. i like the idea that they might crawl across the floor. sometimes they seem monolithic, immovable. at other times, small enough to miss.

come play!
