Dear friends and colleagues,

Hello to our wonderful Nurture Parenting community! We will always embrace the nurturing aspect of parenting. The name no longer fits our strategic vision, however, so we've made the decision to rebrand.

It is with great pride that we announce our new name: Fearless Parent.

You can find us online here:

Fearless Parent is an innovative online media platform covering the new parenting espoused by today’s thinking parent.

We offer news, commentary, and original content on the pulse of social media, through our blogs, radio show, and community-based programming. The reporting is provocative, honest, and hopeful. Our audience is the savvy and resourceful parent who is willing to question authority and make decisions based on both instinct and research.

Fearless Parent Radio

11/27 Show: Dr. Kelly Brogan

Did you ever wish you were a doctor? Maybe it'd be even better if your best friend had the MD, and if she were board-certified but holistic, too.

You'd discuss your greatest medical fears, ask what she does with her kids, and how she responds to others about her parenting choices, too.

Louise and Alison are dishing about fear and medicine with Kelly Brogan this Wednesday, and we hope you'll join us.

Kelly is indeed board-certified and holistic, but most wonderful of all, she leads with her mom hat. And we love that she's asking as many questions as she's trying to answer.

How Do I Find Your Show?!

There are several ways that you can listen to our weekly radio show:

Listen live on PRN.fm, every Wednesday at 11 a.m. Eastern

Fearless Parent Blog

Social Violence, Psych Meds, and Our Children

Please read this blog written by Kelly and Louise.

A high school senior recently told Louise over half his grade of 250 students at a prestigious private school took ADHD meds, some occasionally to help them study, others regularly to help them function. I no longer believe he was exaggerating. We have a massive psych drug problem, across all ages.

By "we" I mean our entire society, terrorized by a rising tide of unpredictable violence in our schools and communities that we say is inexplicable.

Sales of psych drugs exceeded $70 billion in 2010. This isn't an accident. Despite significant concerns, doctors and educators are simply too damn eager to advocate their use.

It comes down to the parents to exercise caution, common sense, and compassion regarding the varied challenges and realities facing all our children. Perhaps we can support each other through other better ways.

This isn't a happy, easy holiday subject. But it's motivated by love. Let's talk about it.

Great Ideas

Help Shape Our Programming!

Here are some ideas:

Blog for us! We know you're doing a ton of research and you have a lot to say. There's no end to the topics you could cover. Read our guest blog guidelines and give it a go!

Suggest a guest for our radio show. What do you want to know? Who do you want to hear from? Tell us and let's get it on the air.

Invite us to your town. You want to help organize the next party, don't you? If you can't lead the event but you'd like to help, that's great, too.

Share your passion. If you have a few hours to spare as a volunteer or an intern, maybe you'd like to help produce a show, create a webinar, or do a little research. We're just starting to edit the Springfield event DVD...

Let's work together!
