Adventure Mentoring, a new program by North Coast Adventure Centers, is now offering 14, 28, & 42 day wilderness + adventure-based expeditions for students and young adults (16-20 years old).

Our expeditions focus on:
-Character Development
-Independent Living Skills
-Vocational Training & Certifications
-Available College Credit
-High School Credit Recovery (non-classroom based)

For students and young adults who are pursuing solutions and skills
July 8 - 42 Days
July 22 - 28 Days
August 5 - 14 Days

This small group, outdoor course is led by caring and competent experiential education professionals in an inspiring natural environment. Daily life skills training, adventure activity instruction and exercise is the platform for an experience that encourages learning and personal growth.

Expedition Location: The course will take place in and around the Kalmiopsis Wilderness in Southern Oregon/Northern California or the Trinity Alps region in Central Northern California. Location is based on participant numbers and environmental conditions.

High School and College Credit
Successful participants will be awarded certifications in content area based on demonstrated understanding of course material and total time spent on curriculum.

Adventure Certificates: Rock Climbing Top Rope Guide, River Rafting Guide, Mountain Bike Guide, Basic Surfing Skills, Whitewater Rescue Technician, Canopy Tour Guide, Leave No Trace Awareness and Trekking, CPR/First Aid, and Wilderness First Aid. Number of Certificates awarded is based on the number skills demonstrated and length of time in the program.
Available College Credit: up to 9 units
High School Credit Recovery: up to 12 units (depending on number of expedition days and school transferability)

For Extended Education units through Humboldt State University, you must have graduated from high school or be a junior or senior with at least a 3.0 GPA. Credit is available for an additional fee and may require additional immersion skill hours.

Our innovative education program uses an experiential model that provides a new outdoor program choice for Oregon and California. Adventure Mentoring was founded by former staff members from Catherine Freer Wilderness Therapy Programs and current North Coast Adventure Centers team members/founders.
