Recently the Office of Alumni Relations moved to Cooper Hall, 3rd floor. The office is a spacious and pleasant location, great for hosting alumni visitors as they are back on campus. You are invited to stop by next time you are back to SC for a visit. But in the mean time, we will be doing our best to come to you. Upcoming alumni events that are in the planning process for the first half of 2011 will take place in Omaha, NE; Aledo, IL area; Colorado Springs, CO; Dallas/Fr. Worth, TX; Wichita, KS and an event in Minden, NE on March 26th. If you live within driving distance of any of the above locations or happen to be traveling in those areas, it would be a blessing to have you join us for any of the alumni events! Sterling College at the Kansas State Fair

The Office of Alumni Relations, Admissions and Sterling College Online will join forces once again to host a booth at the Kansas State Fair, September 9 – 18, 2011. Last September the three departments cooperated to have a very successful presence at the Fair. More than 100 prospective students filled out information cards to inquire more about SC and over 200 alumni stopped by the booth to visit, pick up information, reminisce and sign up for the daily drawing of prizes. The daily winners during the 2010 Fair were; Brendon Rolfs ’99, Miranda (Spangler ’97) Reed, Dwight Sauer ’58, Harold Davidson ’59, Niki (Ray ’71) Svaty, Janice (Engbrecht ’60) Miller, Darrell Treaster ’53, Bill McConnelee ’61, Wendy (Gibbs ’99) Pope and Robin Getting (mother of current student, Jordan Getting).

Sterling College Legend Curt Bennett Passes

Sterling College Hall of Fame Member, former football coach, and former All-America football player Curt Bennett passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at the age of 75. Bennett served as the head football coach at Sterling College on three separate occasions and accumulated an overall record of 59-60-3 during his 13 year tenure. Curt currently holds the record at Sterling College for most football victories as a head coach. To read more click here.

Sterling College Hires FInancial Aid Assistant

Sterling College is pleased to announce the hiring of K.C. Bassett as its new financial aid assistant. She began on December 1. In her new role, K.C. is responsible for assisting with the processing of financial aid applications. She also manages the electronic transmitting of FAFSA data and loan disbursements.
