Recent Event Highlights

The 24th Annual Women's Fair

What a wonderful day! Our Women's Fair welcomed over 700 visitors for a day of shopping, a fashion show, photo booths, delicious lunches and treats, auctions, draws and fun!

We would like to send a huge thank you out to everyone who contributed to this success - our amazingly talented volunteer organizing committee, the donors - sponsor businesses, cake bakers, silent auction prize donors, our vendors, our board member for making jars of jam, our MC and of course the small army of volunteers who came out to ensure every aspect of the fair ran smoothly.

Together we broke all records this year - by several thousand dollars!

This 24th Annual Women's Fair raised $14,000 for Lanark County Interval House programs and services! Thank you to everyone involved for your dedication and hard work. It is certainly making a huge impact!

If you are interested in joining us in planning the 25th Annual Women's Fair for next year, call 613-257-3469 x 27

Violet Femmes Girls Night Out Gala

Let's give a big shout out for another great Gala!

We had a fabulous night dancing the night away.

Our organizing committee outdid themselves this year with new decorations, a new variety of auction items and a volunteer bar!

Robin and Marissa, the unposed photographers added a whole new element of fun, taking amazing photographs for FREE of our beautiful women in all shades of purple.

We think this year's Violet Femmes Gala was the best one yet. Thanks to your generosity, the event raised close to $13,000! Breaking all records! Just amazing.

Thank you to everyone involved! Including the sponsors and the silent auction donors - And Static Salon for organizing the bar, designing the new centrepieces & building the lighted signs and of course for donating the wonderful take home gifts!

We couldn't do it without the help of all of these people and businesses.

Let's do it again next year!

Air Cadets fill the pantry shelves!

We want to send a warm thank you out to the Smiths Falls 585 Royal Canadian Air Cadets.

Instead of trick-or-treating for candy on Hallowe'en, the youth went door-to-door collecting food to help us with our high grocery bills!

Through the generosity of the community and the hard work of the cadets, the group managed to FILL the pantry with food to feed the families in the shelter!

It was a wonderful surprise for us and the items included many we don't usually have on our shopping list! Treat is right. Many thanks to everyone involved.

Dazzling Divas and Shopping Sherpas came to visit!

We were so pleased to meet the Shopping Sherpas and the Queen of the Dazzling Diamond Divas at the shelter today. The ladies came to present a cheque from the their Wine and Cheese Fashion show and also a cheque from the Royal Canadian Legion. The event was a huge success and a lot of fun just like the organizers!

Retro 80s Dance

Thank you to Valley Granite and Tile and everyone who made this event a huge success!

A special thank you to the organizing committee all the volunteers, the donating businesses and to everyone who came out to dance the night away!

Angels Roost Tarot Event

Laurie McCann, Lise Guignard, Ann Gratton and Angels Roost Studio and Spa owner Kathy Blair surpassed their personal goal of raising $500, donating $660 to help fund the programs and services of Lanark County Interval House.

The women offered personal Tarot Reading and Henna Decorating on a cool and misty day in October. Patrons were treated to professional readings, as Ann and Lise have a combined 59 years of experience reading cards.

Kids Are Super Gala

We want to send a huge thank you to the organizers of this fantastic kids' party.

The proceeds went to the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and were then split between Lanark County Interval House and La Maison d’amite.

Those funds were also enhanced by the Scotiabank Employee Volunteer program.

LCIH would also like to send a special thank you to IBM. Like Scotiabank, IBM has an employee volunteering grant that was applied to the volunteer work done for this event. LCIH was the fortunate recipient.

In total, this two hour event raised over $7000 for the two shelters! What an amazing group of volunteers. Well done!

Volunteer Spotlight

Bentall-Kennedy in the Community

Property maintenance is always a challenge at the shelter. With fewer staff and resources, some of of the seasonal chores that come with running a household often remain undone.

That's why we appreciate so much when a group comes to help us with these types of jobs.

A few weeks ago Bentall Kennedy sent us a mighty team to help prepare the building for winter. They raked leaves, trimmed branches, tidied the yards, cleaned the gutters and they even did windows!

They are a nice and hard-working group and a great company with a desire to 'give back' to the community. Thanks to Bentall Kennedy!
