Our Weekly Newsletter

We hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season! We woke up to a White Christmas here in upstate New York and couldn't feel more blessed. As I write, sitting cozily by the fire, it's easy to dream up lots of new projects with all of the beautiful fabric we've received in the last week!

Just Arrived in our Shop!

Luxe in Bloom Poster

At fall Quilt Market, I had the delightful pleasure of meeting one of the sweetest and most genuine souls you could hope to meet in the textile world. Miss Sarah Watson is spirited and delightfully humble. I can see why Art Gallery would want to snatch her up as one of their new licensed designers.

As you can see from her hand drawn artwork, her motifs are beautifully organic yet confident and precise. With Luxe in Bloom Sarah draws on inspiration from her current home town in Brazil and takes us on a stroll through an exotic garden, where the smallest detail is an inspiration. You'll find geodes, vines, exotic tile-work, and brush strokes along the garden walk.

Chinoiserie Poster
1. chinoiserie wallpaper

Anna Griffin's new Chinoiserie fabric collection pays homage to exquisite Chinese silk wallpaper, made popular in the western world by 18th century French and English courts. Naturally, I see this line being used for elegant window treatments and decor, quilts, darling dresses for little girls, and lovely apparel for ladies.

Attention apparel sewers, and anyone looking to take the plunge into sewing clothing - Anna Maria Horner's Field Study Rayon Challis is here! I know that sounds a little intimidating, but Anna has graciously filled a week's worth of blogging with tips on sewing with this new substrate. For example, about the Look and Feel of this fabric, Anna writes that "Rayon moves like water where Voile moves like air. Rayon is swishier where Voile is floatier." Anna continues with tips for Washing, Pressing, & Planning, advice on Cutting and Sewing, and inspiration for Adventuring with Rayon. Happy Sewing!
