The trio format was characterized by improvised solos and an exploration of different musical "moods". ...Like Percussionist Napoleon Revels-Bey....like Organist Radam Swartz...like Guitarist Ed Cherry....With the organ and a guitarist,..'fills in' the musical parts that the organist is not performing...The most stripped-down setting, the trio. (Because an organist can play the bass notes on the pedals, the trio usually includes a guitarist and drummer...Like Percussionist Napoleon Revels-Bey....like Radam Swartz...like Ed Cherry.. a popular type of jazz ensemble for club and concert settings in the 1950s and 1960s, performing a blues-based style of jazz that incorporated elements of R&B.
