Alcohol Awareness Week April 7-10

Removing Suicidal Students from Campus Webinar
Friday, April 11, Time: 1:00 P.M.-2:30 P.M.

The Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights (OCR) made significant changes in policy that leave colleges and universities in a catch-22 when managing suicidal students on campus or addressing requests for re-entry for students who continue to struggle with active suicidal thoughts. Join us in this informative webinar discussion!

John M. Belk Endowment Gives $825,000 for scholarships at Johnson C. Smith University
Johnson C. Smith University is pleased to announce a gift of $825,000 from the John M. Belk Endowment to increase access to the university by providing scholarships to deserving students. The gift was announced on April 10 at the Annual Scholarship Luncheon.

JCSU Exit Loan Counseling Requirements
Students who are expected to graduate May 4 and are recipients of Federal Direct Loan funds during their JCSU educational career, are required by federal regulations and JCSU to complete Exit Loan Counseling upon completion of a program of study
To help students meet this requirement, Exit Loan Counseling Sessions will be held on the following dates and times:
April 15th 11:00am – 2:00pm The Rotunda of the JCSU Student Union
April 16th 11:00am – 2:00pm The Rotunda of the JCSU Student Union
Students who attend an Exit Loan Counseling Session, will be given Financial Aid clearance for graduation.

New Exhibit at JCSU Library in Honor of Alumni
Visitors will learn about key historical facts and pioneers, like Dr. Emery Rann and Dr. Reginald Hawkins both alumni of Johnson C. Smith University that influenced the decisions to ensure quality healthcare for African Americans. Exhibit opens at JCSU February 26-April 30. A community-wide event will be hosted on April 13 from 4 PM-6 PM in the James B. Duke Memorial Library to kick-off National Library Week. Reservation is required. TIAA-CREF One-on-One Counseling
Every year around tax time, do you stop to think about your future and what you need to do to empower yourself towards that dream. Retirement planning should be an integral piece of that process. To assist you, The Office of Human Resources is providing TIAA-CREF one-on-one counseling sessions, Tuesday, April 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in 45 minute increments.
