* Melanie Gear of Geared Up Hair & Beauty Lucindale
* Tara Batt of Shartarhen Equestrian Centre Penola

The judges were impressed that Kate, after working in the UK she decided to try opening a vintage high tea shop in Mt Gambier, a risk that has paid off. Cupkates is now a well known business in the local community. The judges felt that this was something outside what was expected in a small country town.
It is clear that Kate is the key driver of the business. She has strong attention to detail, and is community minded and diverse in her spread of community support.
Kate has diversified into light lunches, and has adapted to tough economic times, with her use of vouchers, and lunchboxes.
The judges see Kate as an asset to Mt Gambier.

The judges were impressed that Melissa and her business have been active in promoting this region to a wider market, and have expanded into a non-traditional entertainment outlet for young people in particular, in this region.
Melissa demonstrated vision and a plan for growth for the Old Gaol.

The judges felt that Margaret had made an outstanding effort with the Karen refugees, giving them hope and a “new life”, and at the same time benefitting the small town of Nhill with positive outcomes, such as increasing enrolments at the school.
Margaret has confronted her (and her husband’s) personal loss every time she speaks about the loss of her sons, in order to help others. This show courage, resilience and great strength of character.
We were impressed that she gives her time to help the government with advice regarding prescription medication.

Workplace Bullying

Andersons[1]

This is a very topical issue at the moment both in the general population but also within Government with considerable discussion around drafting new nationwide legislation to combat the issues. I think your readers/members will find it interesting and informative.

Circle of Events

-
Growing up in the area, I am delighted to return to the Mount Gambier district making my celebrant services available across the Limestone Coast.
People who have no connection with organised religion still desire significant and appropriate weddings and funeral ceremonies. Different ceremonies suit different people. Some are informal and some people want more formal ceremonies even though they are not seeking a religious ceremony. In every way I assist in the gathering up of those special life moments and help to find the right words and symbols marking significant rights of passage.
My approach is holistic and personal. I understand the significance of, and am committed to, creating an uplifting and memorable ceremony of substance to elevate the spirit, connect people with each other and to their community. Tertiary qualified at Monash University, Melbourne, this is the highest level of study currently available in celebrancy.
Please visit my website www.circleofevents.com.au - it is my privilege to help create the ceremony that reflects you and your relationship.
