Sunday At St. Mark's

Abraham’s Tent: Jews Christians and Muslims in the World Today continues today at 9AM, and runs each Sunday at 9AM through the Spring. The speaker will again be Jacob Bender, an independent film director with deep experience of the Middle East interfaith dialogue. During the first session, he spoke as an American Jew about his experience of interfaith dialogue and how this resulted in his award-winning documentary, “Out of Cordoba”, about interfaith life in Spain in the Middle Ages. During the second session, he will speak about how interfaith initiatives are played out in the real world of the Middle East. He will also discuss the recent Israeli elections. (Note: You can find texts of Sam Dolbee’s presentations from the last 2 classes on the table in the back of Morrill Hall.)

The Lion’s Den offers a treasure trove of Lenten reading materials including Good Lord, Deliver Us, A Lenten Journey published by Forward Movement, N.T. Wright’s Lent for Everyone, and Martin L. Smith’s A Season For The Spirit. Many of our music CD’s are on sale. Stop by!

New Monday Class at 9:30AM: Join Mother Anne and a congenial group of parishioners for a discussion of Richard Rohr’s “Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life” (available in the Lion’s Den). Come join this fascinating discussion about how we experience spiritual growth. Read chapters 1 & 2 for Monday the 28th. If you can’t do the reading, come anyway. Childcare provided.

Bishop Grein’s Wednesday Bible Class meets each Wednesday from 10AM-11AM in the Education Center. We are studying Mark’s gospel. New students always welcome!

Please keep these people in your prayers: Katharine, our Presiding Bishop, Ian, James, and Laura, our Bishops, Tyler Everett Austin, Betsy, Jeffrey Donahue, Helen Douglass, Anne Gargano, Michael Maggiore, and Hank Simpkins.

Did You Notice the Photographer? A couple of Sundays ago, we asked a professional photographer to be with us at the 10am service to take photos of the baptisms and of various classes, groups, and ministries. These photos will be used on our brand new website, coming soon!
