Spring is here! We invite you to come see us at our model home center. The tulips will be up and the lilacs blooming very soon. Come inside and sit in the living room (above) and find out for yourself what people mean when they say "There is nothing like the feel you get inside of a log home!" Could you see yourself living in this home?

Quik Trak® is a fast and easy way to install radiant heating in new and retrofit construction. Quik Trak is a system of plywood panels (7" W x 48" L x 1⁄2" H) attached to an aluminum transfer sheet. A groove down the center of the panel holds 5⁄16" Wirsbo hePEX™ plus tubing. To facilitate tubing turns, the Quik Trak system includes return panels with U-shaped grooves. This ensures total Quik Trak coverage and ensures the proper turning radius.

Radiant floor heat: This is when loops of hydronic tubing are embedded in the structure of the floor. Warm water is pumped through the tubing which radiates low level infrared heat to the people and objects in the room rather than heating air. The tubing can be placed in a concrete slab or on top of a wood floor frame. The Quik Trak is an easier way of installing radiant heat on a wood subfloor.

Thanks to everyone who came to the log raising on Beaver Lake near Eureka Springs, AR a few weeks ago. It was a gorgeous day and the finished cabin next door made it easier to visualize the total project.

Did you know that a 40 X 40 roof collects 1,000 gallons of rainwater from a 1" rain? The Rainwater Pillow is a rainwater harvesting system for irrigation, toilet flushing, storm water management and fire suppression. It comes as a complete rainwater harvesting kit that includes the pillow, filter, pump, remote control and all fittings fully automated and easy to use. Rainwater is not subject to water bans or restrictions. It will save you money. It is good for the environment. And rainwater contains no man-made pollutants. (See diagram above.)

Answer to the Trivia Question: It is a home that produces as much energy as it uses. Systems may include geothermal heating/cooling, a wind turbine, solar photovoltaics and/or solar hot water. It is predicted that the 2018 Model Energy Code will require all new construction be built to be net zero energy level.

Quote of the Month: “I've known people who had fantastic ideas, but who couldn't get the idea off the ground because they approached everything weakly. They thought that their ideas would somehow take off by themselves, or that just coming up with an idea was enough. Let me tell you something -- it's not enough. It will never be enough. You have to put the idea into action. If you don't have the motivation and the enthusiasm, your great idea will simply sit on top of your desk or inside your head and go nowhere.” - Donald Trump
