DOCTORS & INTERNS IMPACT IPHC UGANDA

by Mike Reed

Recently, Lori and I returned from a missions trip with some doctors and interns from Oklahoma State University. We met them in Jinja on March 20th and started a three-day medical clinic on the 21st. There were 11 people on their team, and in the three days, they saw over 600 - most of whom were children. We were at the Nyenga Christian School for the first two days and then we took most of the team to the Sue Price Case Memorial Church and School. This is a rural church we built in 1999, where we have a school with over 200 children during the week. While they were there, the team saw about 140 children. At the same time, the other part of our team who stayed behind at the Nyenga Christian School conducted a dental clinic lead by a Ugandan dentist. They saw over 60 children that day and pulled about 55 teeth.

This trip was a really great time and I believe we made a huge impact! To quote the beloved Philip List Sr.,"To God be the glory!" The impact that something like this has on a community reaps dividends far more than we can ever imagine! It was great to be a part of this and see God's grace being shown in tangible ways.

COFFEE HOUSE MINISTRY PLANTS CHURCH IN PHILIPPINES

by Kathryn Shepard

Because of the dedication of Rev. Isagani Kingking, together with Pastor Malate and his wife and team, the Nabua Coffee House has established a church in a region where evangelization is difficult. To God be the glory! Rev. Kingking and his team are engaging with seven cell groups in discipleship and building up believers. Plans are in progress to establish a new coffee house in Baao, Camarines Sur, a town next to Nabua, to be used as a student center. “We might move the Coffee House to that place in order to encourage students to study the Word of God…We are hoping that we will be able to open up a new church in one or two years’ time.”

Please continue to pray for Rev. Isagani Kingking and his team as they work hard to advance the Gospel through Coffee House Ministries.

REFLECTIONS FROM THE DIRECTOR

49TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY, ARGENTINA
I had the privilege of being at another General Assembly since our last communique. I was in Buenos Aires, Argentina for the 49th General Assembly of the IPHC Argentina, March 19-23. The Assembly met on our Conference grounds in Buenos Aires, where they re-elected Rev. Enrique Coronel as Conference Superintendent/President. What a nice man – very humble spirit! Rev. John Passuelo attended the Friday morning Business Session, and it was so good to see John again. It was also good to see Carlos, Brenda, Natalie, and Carla Barroso [Max Barroso’s father, mother and sisters. My wife, Stephanie, and Brenda went to Elementary School together in Franklin Springs, Georgia for a short period of time when the Passuelo’s were home on furlough.] There were 269 registered delegates that participated in the Assembly. I want to thank Dan Clowers for traveling and translating for me again.

DENOMINATIONAL MISSIONS EXECUTIVES MEETING
On March 27, I had the privilege of meeting with denominational Missions Executives from the Assemblies of God USA [Greg Mundis], Assemblies of God Canada [Murray Cornelius], and the Four Square International Church [Jim Scott] in Washington, DC. We spent time praying together and talking about how we do missions. What a rewarding experience for me, personally, and trusting in the Lord for this Division corporately. Please know that we are committed to making our IPHC World Missions Ministries Division the very best missions sending/serving ministry.

MICHELLE NISBETT
I am so pleased to announce that we have a new team member serving in our Division, Mrs. Michelle Nisbett. Here is a short bio on Michelle:

Michelle has been employed on a part time basis at the GMC since October 2009. She previously worked in the Accounting Department in the Accounts Payable position. Michelle graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Accounting. She serves on the Putnam City Schools Foundation Board; on the Executive Board for the Greater OKC Alumnae Panhellenic Foundation; as the President of the Putnam City North High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA); and on the Executive Board of her homeowners’ association. Michelle is blessed with two wonderful teenage children. Blake, 16, and Delaney, 15, both attend Putnam City North High School.

Michelle, thank you for joining our team and becoming part of our missions family!

RADICAL GENEROSITY
As we continue to ponder Isaiah 54: 2 and 3 in the context of our Seven Core Values, I want to thank you for your radical generosity [our seventh value].

Despite circumstances or challenges you have determined to be recognized as ‘conduits’ rather than ‘reservoirs.’ I believe that your radical generosity is going to create a supernatural cycle of blessing.

The chart above will provide you with a snapshot of your generosity for the calendar year 2013 in comparison to 2012. On behalf of your missionaries, national leaders, and congregations serving in 100 nations, we thank you for your generosity. Your faithful support as a conduit keeps our career missionaries serving in the field where they are needed most. Without your help, much of our fruitful and established works overseas would struggle for the lack of proper training and guidance by missionaries. Your support of this ministry is essential if we are going to be obedient to the mandate to Go and Make Disciples of all Nations.

Thank you again for standing with us in the critical work of sending missionaries to serve the church and fulfill the Great Commission. Please know that World Missions is a great place to serve; and that World Missions Ministries is a great ministry to support.

Until Christ returns, let’s continue working together to advance the Kingdom.
