Hi there! This week, I have spent my time mulling over how exactly I'm going to house the overhauled How to Start a Blog course and getting ready for my sessions at Allume (I'm excited!). In my surfing, I've enjoyed villages that don't look real, an enlightening lesson about Autism and I had fun teleporting virtually.

Please note that some of the links below are my referral links, which means I may get a small commission if you make a purchase, at no additional cost to you of course. Thank you for your support in this way!

Enjoy!

1. Peeking at the editorial calendars of others

I'm not sure what it is, but I'm always fascinated by how other bloggers schedule their writing. Darren Rowse talked about his very simple spreadsheet method. His process is similar to the one I keep for this useletter. Here's a screenshot of mine. You can see it better here on Facebook.

2. Want to know the best time to tweet for you?

Go to Followerwonk, click the "Analyze followers" tab at the top and enter your Twitter handle in the field provided. Choose "Analyze their followers" from the dropdown and click "Do it." The second chart down shows you when your followers are most active. You can even automagically make this your Buffer schedule. Handy. (Hat tip: Buffer blog)

3. For some, it might just be the push you need...

I know November is technically National Novel Writing Month, but if you're the type that likes to know you're embarking on a daunting task with a bunch of others, you might check out NaNoWriMo. Maybe it's a good time to finally write that ebook?

4. Facebook and safety for our families

Facebook announced this week that teens can now share publicly. You might want to review that if you have a teen on Facebook. And for more info about safety on FB, check out Facebook's Safety Center. (Hat tip to Mari Smith.)

5. I'm noticing a domain name trend...

So, I'm seeing a lot of people now using a .me extension for their sites (as opposed to .com like I suggest in my post about choosing a domain name). Most recent notables are JonAcuff.me (set to launch next week he says) and PatFlynn.me (thanks for the tip, The Blog Maven). Naturally, I copied them and registered my own domains with a .me extension before another Amy Andrews does. I used Namecheap to do so (a better domain registrar than GoDaddy I've decided). So, if you want want to get your name...
