Company Dancer, Coordinator and Teaching Artist, Jade Treadwell, moved from Florida to join our team!
Learn more about her from this interview:
Q. What is your new role at ClancyWorks?
J. As a Company Dancer, I rehearse and perform for all artistic engagements of the company’s performance season. As a Teaching Artist, I provide dance instruction through our Arts in Education Programs in Baltimore City and Montgomery County Schools. As the Company Coordinator, I assist administratively in all company communications.
Q. How did you become a part of ClancyWorks?
J. I first heard of the Company through an audition notice from my department Chair at Florida State University (FSU) so I decided to audition. At the time, I was seeking an opportunity in which I could utilize my training and professional experiences as a Dance Artist, Educator, and Administrator. Since joining ClancyWorks in August, I have been able to serve in ALL capacities.
Q. Is there any event or moment that stands out for you?
J. Things at ClancyWorks move so quickly that there have already been a number of events that have had an impact on me. It is amazing to think that I have been in the Company for only 9 weeks and have already participated in: 1 week of intense professional development sessions with the Dance Educators Training Institute (DETI); Advanced Youth Development training (AYD); and Americorps Training; as well as performing in two school assemblies in Baltimore City; AND on top of that, I have performed in Austin, Texas and New York City with another performance opportunity this weekend as part of the Velocity DC Festival! It makes me exhausted just listing it.
