The CID’s Security Service provider, GBS Security, has replaced their Corsa LDV with two new Chevrolet Aveo’s patrolling the CID area. The registration numbers GBS003wp and GBS004wp will be displayed shortly on the vehicles. A third vehicle, GBS005wp, will be used in the area for back-up.

Please remember to contact the patrol vehicles immediatley to report an incident or suspicious persons/vehicles on 076 627 3275 / 076 627 0152.
The CID would like to make an urgent appeal to please secure your premises, and make sure all

windows and gates are locked, burglar bars are intact and your alarm systems are in good working order.

Do not give hand-outs to the homeless people. Hand-outs given directly to street people sustains a deeply damaging lifestyle on the streets. Although hand-outs are well meant, this encourages them to become more dependent on hand-outs and to scratch in the bins, which can also lead to an opportunity to an easy target to commit a crime.

The CID would like to thank Mr. Jay-Dee Bruce and Nikki from the Roads & Storm Water Department for all the work they have done in the area.

Spikes on Transnet reserve

Due to people entering the area from Belrail Road and crossing the railway line and climbing over
Transnet’s wall into Reactor Street which is a high safety threat, and an escape route for criminals,
the CID decided to install spikes on top of Transnet’s wall.

Ten “warning” boards will be displayed on the wall. Permission was obtained from Transnet and
the spikes will be installed shortly.

Please notify your employees to find an alternative route and warn them of the danger of crossing
a railway line.
