BATH SALTS
We have been receiving numerous calls regarding what Bath Salts are? What the effects are? And can we test for them? We are advising all employers on what to look for and all parents to become educated and mindful of this new threat. In an effort to help educate, we have put together a variety of resources on our parent resources page.

In brief; Bath Salts are made up of cathinones, which are a synthetic version of a drug found in a shrub called Khat ("cot"). The chemicals most often found in Bath Salts are Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV), mephedrone and methylone. Some of the effects of the drug include paranoia that can sometimes cause users to harm themselves or others, increased blood pressure, heart rate, and other amphetamine type similarities. After use, the user may experience depression, irritability, loss of appetite, blackouts, and difficulty sleeping.

Please visit our resources page for complete awareness information.
If you would like information on testing for Bath Salts in your current panel, please contact us.

If you would like to schedule Mobile Occupational Services to perform an awareness class at your company or organization please contact us.

FCRA RIGHTS NOTICE
The newly created Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (“CFPB”) issued regulations that will modify the notices under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”). The new regulations are required for employers who obtain criminal background reports, credit history reports, and other background checks on their applicants and employees.

The new CFPB’s regulations will change the “Summary of Consumer Rights under the FCRA.” The FCRA requires that employers provide this notice to applicants and employees during the screening process. The regulations require that employers begin using the new form on January 1, 2013.

If you are currently using our background screening system, updates will be made for you.
