Greetings!

I hope everyone had a wonderful July 4th! We spent the whole week at the lake with family and friends and as you can see on the 4th I kayaked to a float in the middle of the lake and had some fun with my tri-pod!

The big news on our end is that I'm 20 weeks pregnant with our first child - a little girl who is due on Thanksgiving day! We found out the gender on Friday (our five year anniversary) and it was a very sweet way to celebrate. Of course Strider and Sage were absolutely THRILLED to be stuffed into a basket to help share the news ;) We're over the moon and I'm looking forward to taking the winter off to get acquainted with our little lady.

As the time draws closer I'll provide more information about ordering deadlines for albums and prints so they arrive before I go on leave. If you've been putting off ordering an album please contact me sooner rather than later so it's not a crunch at the end.

Read on for the rest of the news and happy summer!

RECOMMENDATIONS

I had been trying to read a book that just wasn't catching my interest for a few weeks and finally put it down.....I need to remember to do that sooner!

After that since I was on vacation I whizzed through four books but have only had time to blog one of them - The Alienist which was dense but enjoyable. The subject matter (a vicious serial killer) isn't exactly a picnic but I enjoyed the characters and plot development thoroughly.

During my trip to Colorado I finished The Twelve Tribes of Hattie on my Kindle - I would say that I liked it but didn't love it despite all the hype and PR.

With the garden sprouting lettuce, tomatoes, and snow peas by the day we haven't done many hot dinners but Jeff did recently cook this delicious Chicken Saltimbocca
