Happy 2013 from Deaf Arts Network and Arts Access Victoria!

DAN produced 12 projects last year, employed 6 casual Deaf Artists, and presented 5 projects to full house of audiences! Now we have a fresh new year ahead of us here in the arts!

Deaf Arts Network with Arts Access Victoria are working on funding applications for more Deaf Can Dance workshops to be delivered across Victoria, The Delta Project to develop Collisions bringing it to a higher level, and The Australian Theatre of the Deaf to produce shows & tours. Fingers & toes crossed for positive outcomes!

If you missed some DAN eNews, you can find them on DAN website, and don't forget to Like DAN's Facebook Page because we regularly update it with events more often than eNews. Go down to the bottom for the links to DAN website, Facebook and eNews Subscription pages.

Life of Pi

Vicdeaf and Arts Access Victoria have been working with the City of Boroondara, SLC VIC, Action on Cinema Access and Melbourne Deaf Cricket Club to stage a free Open Caption Twilight Cinema screening of the very popular Life of Pi.

This is in response to a request from the community to provide an open captioned screening of a film to build awareness about open captioning.

Please find attached a flyer for the event to share with your friends, family and colleagues. Please distribute far and wide! (from Vicdeaf)

"Hate"

Auslan Interpreted
Friday 8 March 7.30pm
The Malthouse
113 Sturt Street, Southbank

There’s nothing so dramatic as a weekend with the family…

A storm shakes the Gleason homestead, but it’s the tempest inside that spells the family’s end. 25 years after its premiere, Stephen Sewell’s portrait of a monstrous patriarch who would be the country’s king remains startlingly relevant. An uncanny sense of regression hangs over an all-too-familiar portrait of Australian politics in which power, fear and violence are inextricable.

Information & Booking go to website

More Auslan Interpreted shows at Malthouse:

The Dragon 10 July 7.30pm
