Learn To Be Thoughtful

Are you consumed with thoughts about your life, the pursuit of your goals, the fixing of your problems, and your achievements, that you rarely consider the needs of others? If you answered "yes", then you are not alone. Our society has grown increasingly self-absorbed, to where our minds are consumed with our own thoughts and plans, rather than with the thoughts and plans of God. It's as if we are busy going nowhere. We've become like hamsters on a wheel, with a to-do list as long as the Nile River. Yet, we haven't accomplished what really matters most to God. What matters to God is that we do the works that we were created to do. What works? Good works like sharing the Gospel, feeding someone that's hungry, going to visit someone that is sick in the hospital, calling to check on a friend or loved one, giving nice clothes away to those that don't have any, remembering someone on their birthday, showing appreciation, or other ways to do good to someone. People are blessed by our thoughtfulness. This is the kind of selfless ministry that goes unnoticed by the masses, but God takes notice. Be His hands in the earth blessed daughter of the King. If you lack resources, you may have to be creative, but let nothing stop you from displaying your love for a good and thoughtful God, through your good and thoughtful works.

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)

Father God,
I pray You help me become consumed with the things that You are consumed with. You loved the world so much that You gave us Jesus. Show me how to love in that way. I desire to not only love in word, but in my actions as well. Show me how to be thoughtful like You. I understand the smallest acts of love can mean the world to someone else. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
