Greetings!

I'm writing from Pennslylvania where I'm visiting my Dad for the week. I have a clear view out to his cherry trees which are in full blossom and it's supposed to get up to 85 today - spring is definitely here!

Take care,

FACEBOOK CONTEST

NELR

During the month of April for every new "Like" on my Facebook page I will donate $1 to New England Lab Rescue (up to $500)

Those of you who read the blog, you know that my two labs Strider and Sage bring me endless happiness and laughter. The work that this rescue organization (and all rescue organizations!) does is so important and I wanted to find a way to support it and hopefully get more people interested in the cause.

PERSONAL

Lost-Coast-0006

It's been a quiet month (I like to think of it as the calm before my fun storm!) and we've been home most weekends - my favorite!

I'm almost done blogging about my New Zealand adventures...one more week to go. Catch up on my last few weeks....
- Doubtful Sound
- Fox Glacier
- West Coast
- Nelson Lakes National Park & Abel Tasman
- Wine Country & The Marlborough Sounds

My Dad and I flew west in mid-February (where does the time go?) to visit my Brother who lives outside of San Francisco. From there we drove north to the Avenue of the Giants where we saw the Redwoods - simply magical. That part of the country is so beautiful and in the off season it was relatively quiet!
- Mendocino
- Avenue of the Giants

A few other highlights:
- A winter trip to Vermont
- Go Karting with old friends
- A Strider & Sage cuteness update :)
- I had tea with my friend's daughter Ellie :)

OPERATION LOVE RE-UNITED

CT-Newborn-Photos-0016

I had the honor of photographing two wonderful families this month through my work with Operation Love Re-United

I photographed this family a few days before deployment
This Dad was home on R&R for the birth of his beautiful daughter - I got to meet her when she was ten days old

WEDDINGS

Canal-Street-Wedding-New-Orleans-0036

It's getting to be that time of year.....engagement photos followed by many beautiful summer weddings - I can't wait!

In early March my good friend Nikki got married in New Orleans on Canal Street. It was a very informal wedding and one chock full of love - very fun to be a second photographer and to be photographing such a close friend!

A few weeks ago I met up with Jon & Alex who are getting married this fall in Vermont at The Hermitage.

This week I'm doing a southern tour and will be photographing four couples so the May e-newsletter will provide links to those images :)

RECOMMENDATIONS

mad-men

I've continued to read and watch some movies....now I just need to blog about them :)

I finally started watching Mad Men and since the new season started I'm keeping pace.....great show.
I recently watched The President's Photographer - a documentary mostly focusing on Pete Souza who is the official White House photographer. Very interesting from both a historical and photography perspective!
Sometimes I blog individually about books I've read but I was getting behind so this post is a mish mash of about 10 books I've read in the past few months.
