Christmas always feels like a big rush of events, party's, buying gifts and holiday baking. It's so easy to just blink and the holiday is over before you even get a chance to get into the spirit. How are you preparing your heart for Christmas? I've been challenged to be quiet and really reflect on what Christmas means to me and what it really represents. I don't want to be so caught up in the business of the season that I lose sight of it's meaning and it passes me by in a flash.
Above all I want this season to cause a new place of worship in my heart, an admiration for my God… Jesus that came down to earth in such a miraculous way. As I meditate on the story of Christmas it causes a new attitude of worship in my heart.
This is a season to give. As I think about all the giving we'll be doing it puts my heart in check. Do I have a giving spirit? or am I just giving because it's Christmas. I want to be a better giver and not just for Christmas. I want to take the giving spirit of Christmas and turn it into a life style.
No one can settle how much we ought to give. The only safe rule is to give more than we can spare. [C.S. Lewis]
