Two months have passed since the Pebble Peak project closed on RocketHub.com. A lot has happened in that time! This is an e-mail update for the project funders, and contains information obtained directly from Arturo Rodriguez, the project leader. Thank you for using your RocketFuel to support this project!

State of Progress

cnc

First CNC machine being setup

Pebble Peak has purchased three CNC milling machines. Two have recently arrived; the third is on its way. Since they were disassembled for transport, PebblePeak is finishing the assembly of the first machine right now.

The jigs will no longer be printed using a 3D printer. After repeated testing Arturo was unhappy with the durability of the polymer. In order to assure quality, a local shop will be casting the jigs to include in the shipments.

There have been delays in receiving Pebble Peak’s order of aluminum. The distributor has informed Arturo that the aluminum will be in stock this Friday, August 9th. Therefore the new expected delivery date of the aluminum is Friday, August 14th (one week later). Upon receiving the aluminum, production will begin immediately.

Project Updates

To date, Arturo has been posting fairly regular updates to his RocketHub project page. Here is a summary of the updates so far:

07/23/13: UPDATE: Supplier will receive Aluminum on the 9th of August and we will receive the Aluminum on the 14th of August.

07/20/13: UPDATE: Supplier is running behind on delivering the aluminum to us but we should receive the pallets anytime now. I will post another update Monday after I get a better ETA from the supplier.

07/05/13: UPDATE: Ok guys, we should be receiving half of the aluminum next week. If I didn't respond to your email and need an address change please send me an email at orders@pebblepeak.com with your order number as the subject line. You will have until the 12th of this month to change your order.

06/25/13: UPDATE: Order has been placed for the 7075 Aluminum. Will post update when we receive the order.

06/21/13: UPDATE: The funds just cleared our bank. I will be placing the order for the aluminum Tuesday morning since the shop does not open on Monday and I will be out of town until Monday afternoon.

06/11/13: UPDATE: The check finally arrived and has been deposited in our account. The funds will be made available to us in 10 days and we will begin the process of making the lowers. Sorry for the delay but it was out of our control on how long the check took to get here and how long the funds take to clear.

06/10/13: UPDATE: We are running behind on the project since we haven't received the funds from RocketHub. Hopefully the check arrives soon and we can start the process of completing the orders.
