Hi there! I am enjoying a vacation with my family this week, sandwiched between a super busy week last week and the start of school next week. Last weekend I was at the Declare Conference (read the roundups!). I also chatted with Matt Townsend on his radio show...about blogging of course. :) Entrepreneur on Fire has been dominating my podcasting listening list lately.

As always, thanks for subscribing and letting me drop by with some extra tips this week. Enjoy!

1. My main blogging time management tip

This week, in the third part of my series Blogging Time Management, I shared my biggest blogging time management tip. Check it out if you missed it!

2. Does the amount of time visitors spend on your site affect SEO?

Check this out from Sean at SEO Hacker in his post The World Above the Fold: How it all affects SEO:

If there are 1,000 visitors who click-through to your page and stay there for less than 10 seconds, the search engines will see that and say "Perhaps this page isn’t really that interesting or relevant. Let’s put it a little lower."

I recommend a small header (150px or less), a simple sidebar (or none at all) and content that grabs attention immediately.

3. Blogs to follow about getting published

Every time I'm at a conference, I'm reminded that many of you are wonderful writers hoping to land a traditional book deal. Just thought I'd throw out some blogs you might want to follow:
* Rachelle Gardner - The blog of a literary agent who shares the inside scoop about traditional book publishing. Highly recommended.
* Galley Cat - Self-described as "the first word on the book publishing industry." New to me, but just added to my reader.
* The Passive Voice - A roundup of publishing (mostly self-publishing) info.
* (But don't assume traditional publishing is the only way to go!)
Oh, and speaking of books, so true.

How to write a subject line

Stats vary, but apparently, somewhere between a third and two thirds of recipients decide to open an email based on subject line. Makes sense, right? (Check out 25 Mind Blowing Email Marketing Stats for an interesting read.) The tip? Make sure your subject lines hint at how you will help your readers solve a problem, save money or be entertained.

5. Heads-up, last day!

If you read my useletter last week, you may remember my mention of the Cleaning & Organizing ebook bundle (affiliate link) available this week only. Well if you want to pick up a bundle for yourself, today's the last day to grab it! It's 15 ebooks for $16 (over $100 value). If you need help in the cleaning & organizing departments, grab it quick!.

Liked these tips? Feel free to share this useletter (links above) or forward it to a friend (link below).

Have a great week!

Amy
