Over the past few months, we’ve been working hard to reinvent Avant Palette, starting with our new website, avant-palette.com. We hope you’ll be wowed when you visit to learn more about our services, our team and our latest masterpieces…and you can even speak your mind on our blog.
In the process of reinventing the company, we’ve added new finishes and products to ensure that we can truly be your one-stop finishing resource. Our umbrella of services includes general painting, faux finishing/decorative painting, Venetian plastering, concrete staining, furniture finishing and mural creation.
The team we’ve assembled to serve you is truly outstanding, and we’ll be introducing these creative professionals in future newsletter editions.
Many of you know our principal, Margarette Johannes, who has established herself as an expert in helping clients add beauty and refinement to their personal spaces and workplaces. What you may not know is that she is LEED AP certified and a member of the U.S. Green Building Council.
Both of those designations speak to Avant Palette’s commitment to sustainability and focus on enhancing the environment without causing irreparable damage to it.

Principal Margarette Johannes, LEED AP
Margarette has executed many murals in private residences, including a recent 18’ x 20’ koi-themed masterpiece in San Diego. Her work can be found in Hawaii, Vail, Aspen, Washington DC, Las Vegas and Southern California, a recent accomplishment was being inducted into the Vail Ski Museum for her public artwork on Checkpoint Charlie. Michael Sprouse
A contemporary artist who’s been working professionally since 1988, Michael focuses full-time on creating specialized work that’s represented by several U.S. fine art galleries and found in private and public collections across the country as well as in Europe, Canada and South America. His neo-romantic style has been called “evocatively beautiful” and “mesmerizing” by art critics and collectors. Read more...
Mario Torero
Since the early ‘70s, Mario has created a body of socially motivated public artwork that has evolved into a master plan concept that continues to march on to the tune of humanity’s dream. His murals are found throughout San Diego, Tijuana and Los Angeles, as well as in Peru, Costa Rica, Czechoslovakia and Cuba. Read more...
Emo
A native of Poland who lives in New Jersey, Emo is a graffiti artist who’s well known for his work on the Tony Hawk video games. He’s established a stellar reputation over the past 12 years, and his work is found in Canada, Paris, Poland and the U.S. Emo has been featured in magazine spreads in Day in the Lyfe and Yellow Rat Bastard. His recent work includes hand-painting a stucco tomb in a church. Read more...
