Dry-Skin Brushing
Your skin. Your lovely, beautiful, radiant skin! One of your most amazing organs, it works with your other elimination organs to get rid of toxins. Dry brushing helps to exfoliate dead skin cells, increase circulation, break down cellulite, assist the lymph system, rejuvenate thyroid function and revitalize the body and mind. Oh, and it's anti-aging too!
You'll need a natural bristle brush and a bottle of essential oil. I started with eucalyptus, known for its anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, decongestant, deodorant, antiseptic, antibacterial, and stimulating properties.
This five minute routine starts in the morning before a shower. Take two drops of essential oil and massage it into your legs, arms and abdomen. Start at your feet and always brush toward your heart using long, even motions. Brush up the legs, over your abdomen, buttocks, and back. For your arms, begin at your fingers and brush up your arms, toward your heart. Brush your shoulders and chest down, toward your heart. Avoid brushing broken skin. Finish by taking a shower!
I have summarized the routine for you, but for more specifics on essential oil recipes, detailed step-by-step directions and benefits please do your research!
