Hey there! Thanks for subscribing and letting me drop by with some extra tips this week. (Did someone share this with you? Consider subscribing here so you don't miss any future fun.) Enjoy!

1. For the writers among us

Want to be a writer, explore your publishing options or hone your writing skills? This week I bought the Writing Ebook Bundle of the Week because I'm going to improve my writing skills if it kills me. I'm hoping I might even learn to like it.

2. For the foodies among us (and all of us)

I'm sneaking this tip in because even though I'm not a food blogger, I love food and I love bloggers and therefore I officially deem it relevant. (And actually, word on the street is that the rest of us can join in too...which I plan to do.) This virtual Google+ conference is worth checking out.

3. Do you know the best time to post on Facebook? You're about to find out.

Facebook is rolling out new Insights which will provide some handy, in-depth info about our Pages! Wisemetrics wrote a great breakdown of the new features. An especially handy new feature: stats showing when your fans are active on Facebook so you can schedule posts and get the most engagement!

4. What's your main call to action? Is it clear on your About page? Mine wasn't. {{hangs head}}

I updated my About page this week, adding a useletter signup box right near the top. I do not know why this took me so long to do. Consider putting your main call to action front and center on your About page, since it's likely one of the most popular pages on your site and is a great place to encourage visitors to do the main thing you want them to do.

5. A peek behind the scenes and apps and things

So, I've been hanging out with Kat on How They Blog this week and I'm having a ball. On Monday I talked about how I got started blogging and a few things I've learned along the way. On Wednesday I shared a BOATLOAD of apps and tools I like. On Friday, I'll be talking about how I (try to) balance it all. Come on over and join me!

6. Other shenanigans...

I was excited about some free apps this week (although I'm not sure how long they'll last, so get 'em ASAP). I'm also glad to know others can relate to my love of the grocery store. It's the simple things. Like these printable labels.
