With just over a week to go until Mikey's first race in a car, he said "It's like waiting to be deployed - excited and nervous all at the same time."

Mikey made this happen - he's in the driving seat of his life.

He's been given lots of support and guidance from people like his new team mate, Christie Doran and coaching from Rory Butcher, but this is his project.

He knows what he wants and knows what's needed to get there - and he's walking the walk.

This 23 year has turned his life around and dragged himself from a very dark place to where he is now - about to race in his new BMW.

He's the only injured soldier to do this on his own.

His actions have earned him his respect - he now needs some more sponsors.

CLINICAL STUDY

HOW COMPETITIVE MOTORSPORT CAN BENEFIT INJURED TROOPS

We are undertaking a clinical study by a renowned Professor who is a leading clinician in his field of research.

The aim of this clinical study is to better understand how competitive motorsport racing is positively impacting the injured troops who are participating in this sport.

The results will be used to assist us in validating the work being done on a daily basis in order to clearly underline the funding that is urgently required to be assigned to this form of recovery, which in turn will provide further opportunities for more of our injured troops to be properly supported.

We intend to publish this report in the very near future.

ISRAELI INJURED TROOPS RACING

It's fantastic to see Israeli injured troops are now also karting competitively, using KartForce hand controls.

We've invited them to come over to race with us later this year.

It won't be long until we have teams of injured troops from other countries ready to compete in an international event.
