Recent Tour Recap
Moveable Feast, October 11th
Small pizzas at Gather
The moveable feast was a great success! We cruised around Downtown Berkeley on a gorgeous night and had such a great time. We enjoyed the delicious meal and personal experience with the fantastic Chefs and Owners of Gather, Five, and Revival Kitchen + Bar. We started with small pizzas and wine at Gather with Owner Eric Fenster, then mingled over to Five Restaurant for entrees. Chef Banks White presented lovely herb roasted chicken, sauteed chard, dumplings, and homemade cornbread! What a treat. And if the night could not get any better, we ended with melon and grape sorbet and a lovely tart made by Chef and Owner, Amy Murray. Due to phenomenal feedback, we are planning on hosting monthly Moveable Feasts, so look out for those starting January!

Berkeley Education Tours
We have been partnering with Berkeley High School's Green Academy to provide groups of students with a series of educational tours. The topics range from Alternative Energy and Transportation, Green Building, Internship and Job Search, Urban Agriculture, and Re-Thinking Waste in order to give them first hand experiences of the subjects they are studying. This has been extremely successful in encouraging enthusiasm and drive amongst the students! We plan to provide these tours to other schools in the future.

Screening of Africa’s Last Famine,** a co-production of Oxfam America and LinkTV:
Sadly, World Food Day 2011 was marked by one of the worst famines in recent history. But, with the right planning and a few new ideas, it could be the last. This 22 minute film features recent stories from the Horn of Africa and beyond, and including solutions being implemented around the world to prove that hunger isn't inevitable.
Oxfam America Hunger Banquet:
Guests randomly draw tickets when they arrive that assign them to different income levels, based on the latest statistics about the number of people living in poverty. While not all guests leave with full stomachs, many will gain a new perspective on the root causes of hunger and poverty—and will feel motivated to do something to help.
MISSION STATEMENT
To provide educational tours that demonstrate the sustainable economy in action, inspire support of local green businesses, and empower people to incorporate environmental responsibility and social justice into their personal and professional lives.
