The Library Artspace Invites Proposals from Artists and Art Collaborators for our
STUDIO RESIDENCY PROGRAM 2013

Why have an Exhibition with an Opening......when you can have a Residency with a Closing???
The program we are offering provides emerging and established artists with the opportunity to develop their practice or projects in our massively excellent spacious Gallery, The Library Artspace. Artists in Residence are encouraged to utilise the gallery as an active working space to create and exhibit work not normally encouraged by the short time frames available for installing work.
The Library Artspace exists within a dynamic artistic community in central North Fitzroy that is home to a diverse range of artists and artistic practices. We are an Artist Run and Not for profit organization. Our Gallery operates as a professional and accessible space for all imaginable kinds of projects. The Residency program provides an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with access to a community of peers.
The Library Artspace will provide the successful applicant with:
Free range use of the entire gallery with 24hr access (135m² + 10m² projection room)
A Data Projector and DVD player
Halogen lighting track system and fluorescent lighting
Internet access/ on site parking
A Closing night Exhibition/Event in the Library Artspace Gallery upon completion of the Residency (printed invitations/email invitations to Gallery mailing list/bar attendant on Closing night/listing on Artabase and TheLibraryArtspace blogsite

A Cover page including:
Contact details,
Project/ working title,
Preferred Residency start date and duration (Residencies will be for a minimum 1 Month)
List of Artists if applying for a Collaborative Residency.
A brief description of the proposed project (max 400 words)
A current CV(max 1 page) or abridged CVs if applying for a Collaborative Residency.
Visual support material. Max 10 images (JPEGS) Or 5 min of video(Quicktime) Include name, title, medium and dimensions.

Please keep in mind that the Residency fee is $980 (and Bond+key deposit of $230) for 1 month.
