Dear St. Andrew's Families,
Today we celebrated Good Friday together in the Chapel before a sacrifice lunch of vegan Channa Masala with Basmati Rice and Naan. There is a great sense of peace and community throughout campus that I hope you are able to share in if you visit this weekend.

The Arts Weekend calendar is now available in the online Parents Center. Festivities officially kick-off on Friday evening with Form picnics (look for more information soon) followed by the Orchestra Concert. Saturday features athletic contest, the Jazz Ensemble, and a series of one-act plays that evening. Sunday brings Chapel, the Choral Scholars, and student recitals in Engelhard Hall.

Please, please, please, please (please) RSVP once your plans start to come together so we can get a head count for meals.

All the best,
Will Robinson '97
Communications

PS – I am thrilled to welcome five students onto the communications team this spring. Jessie Duncan '13, Mason Dufresne '13, Tapasya Das '13, Jessie Dinh '14, and Martin French '13 will be scouring campus with cameras, notepads, and pencils as young journalists. Martin already had the job, but absolutely won me over with his Superhero theme song performance for Sammy Nelson '16 during this week's School Meeting.

Rosetta Lee Visits Campus

We owe a big thanks to Co-Directors of Diversity David Miller and Treava Milton for working to bring Rosetta Lee to campus as part of our weekend diversity workshops. Rosetta spoke with the entire community on Friday night and led a workshop for the entire faculty on Saturday morning. Students participated in exercises on Saturday morning led by peers who attended the Student Diversity Leadership Conference earlier in the year. You can watch Rosetta's Friday night lecture here.

King's Academy Faculty Members Visit Campus

We were happy to spend the week with Moamer Khalayleh and Mu'nis Mheidat visiting from King's Academy in Jordan. Khalayleh and Mheidat spent time participating in classes and meeting with faculty members and students. They spent part of School Meeting sharing their insights from the week and answering questions from students ranging from how the school's geographic location plays out in the curriculum to their current view toward the Arab Spring.

This is the second year faculty members from King's have visited St. Andrew's. John Austin '83 was selected to be the school's second Headmaster after many years of teaching and serving as Academic Dean at St. Andrew's.

Student Art Show Opening TONIGHT!

The Warner Art Gallery walls are filled with student work in anticipation for tonight's Student Art Show Opening.

Students have traditionally packed the gallery to appreciate friends' efforts. John McGiff led his painting class through the gallery this afternoon asking students to choose one piece they love and explain why.

Classes Uninterrupted

The first sign of snow can often send students scurrying to emails to plea for a day romping in the snow. Tad responded early on Monday with their answer:

“Thank you to Jay and Joseph who asked me this morning if the weather events under way constitute a blizzard, the necessary precondition for the ever elusive snow day. The answer of course is that this is a beautiful spring coating of snow, worthy of our appreciation and respect, yet not even close to the threshold necessary for a free day. Onward to classes!
– Mr. Roach"
